Graeve, Aleksander Józef Karol (Alexander von Graeve), 1867-71 member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation. *10.7.1819 Baben/Baby near Adelnau/Odolanów, †30.1.1883 Karlshof/Karolew near Borek/Borek Wielkopolski, lawyer, estate owner. Son of the Prussian officer Karl (Karol?) August Friedrich Graeve (1790-1853) and Joanna Jeziorkowska (1799-1857); he considered himself a Pole and was the father of the member of the Reichstag Ludwik Graeve (1857-1920). He attended grammar schools in Breslau and Poznan, before studying law and fiscal accounting in Jena and Berlin. From 1846 onwards he worked as a farmer on his estate in Borek near Koschmin/Koźmin Wielkopolski. In 1863 he was declared by the Berlin Supreme Court to be one of the guilty parties in the Polish January Uprising. In February 1867 he was elected as a member of the constituent Reichstag of the North German Confederation for the constituency of Krotoschin/Krotoszyn.
