Graeve, Ludwik (Ludwig Edler von Graeve, Ludwig Ritter Graeve), 1884-90 member of the Reichstag of the German Empire. *19.3.1857 Karlshof/Karolew near Borek/Borek Wielkopolski, †1920 Philadelphia (USA), lawyer, estate owner and colliery owner, factory owner. Son of the estate owner and member of the Reichstag, Aleksander Józef Karol Graeve (1819-1883). After finishing grammar school he studied law and fiscal accounting in Krakow, Halle and Breslau. Between 1880 and 1882 he was a trainee lawyer at the Supreme Court in Berlin. He made a huge number of travels abroad, especially for political studies to the Balkan countries. He was the owner of the estate at Schlowitz/Słowikowo near Orchowo, which he also farmed. In October 1884 he was elected as a member of the Polish parliamentary group in the German Reichstag for the constituency of Schroda-Schrimm/Środa Wielkopolska-Śrem with a majority of 81.68%; in February 1887 with a majority of 77.88%; in February 1890 with a majority of 77.02%. He resigned his mandate on 14th June 1890.
