Czartoryski, Roman Adam August książę (Roman Prinz Czartoryski), 1867 member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation, 1870-73 member of the 2nd Chamber of the Prussian Landtag, 1871-81 member of the Reichstag of the German Empire. *23.11.1839 Berlin, †18.2.1887 Jablonow/Jabłonów (today Jabloniw, Ukraine), lawyer, lord of the manor. After A-levels at the Maria-Magdalena grammar school in Poznan he studied law in Bonn, Berlin and Breslau and was subsequently active as an unpaid court assistant. After that he worked in agriculture on his estate in Sarbinow near Punitz/Poniec. After the January Uprising in 1863 he went to England to buy weapons to support the insurrection. He was arrested and sentenced to 18 months in jail for high treason. In 1867 he was elected for the constituency of Kröben/Krobia in the constituent Reichstag of the North German Confederation. In the same year he was made a district commissioner. In 1870 he was elected into the Prussian Landtag for the constituency of Löbau/Lubawa. In March 1871, January 1874, January 1877 and July 1878 he was elected as a member of the Polish parliamentary group in the German Reichstag for the constituency of Kröben with majorities of 62.2%, 58.73%, 65.41% and 61.71% respectively. He gave financial support to the newspapers Kurier Poznański/Poznan Kurier and Gazeta Toruńska/Thorner Zeitung. In 1873 he married Florentyna Dzieduszycka, the heiress of Jablonow and Horodnica. In 1883 he became a citizen of Austria and in the same year a member of the Landtag in Galicia.
