Łyskowski, Ignacy (Ignacy Koschembahr-Łyskowski, Ignaz von Lyskowski), 1848 member of the pre-Parliament, 1848/49 of the Frankfurt National Assembly, 1866-86 of the 2nd Chamber of the Prussian Landtag, 1881-86 of the Reichstag of the German Empire. *12.9.1820 Mileszewo near Strasburg/Brodnica, †14.7.1886 Poznan: a lord of the manor and publicist. After completing his grammar school education in Culm/Chełmno, from 1843 onwards he first studied theology at the universities of Freiburg (Breisgau) and Breslau, and subsequently completed a course in farming. He was the owner of the estate at Mileszewo. In 1869 in Thorn he set up the Towarzystwo ku Wspieraniu Moralnych Interesów Ludności Polskiej pod Panowaniem Pruskim/Society for the Support of the Moral Interests of the Polish Population under Prussian Rule, which distributed Polish books and organised reading rooms and libraries. He was the President of the Towarzystwo Naukowe w Toruniu/Scientific Society in Thorn, which was set up in 1875 by Zygmunt Działowski (Sigismund von Dzialowski, 1843-1878). The Society’s aim was to promote Polish science and culture and encourage research into the Polish history of Thorn. It erected a Museum for Polish Regional History in Thorn in 1881/82. In October 1881 he was elected for the constituency of Graudenz in the second ballot with a majority of 53.34%; in October 1884 as a member of the Polish parliamentary group in the German Reichstag with a majority of 50.69%.
