Parczewski, Erazm (Erasmus von Parczewski), 1874-77 member of the Reichstag of the German Empire. *12.4.1826 Ocionz/Ociąż near Skalmierschütz/Skalmierzyce, †12.7.1915 Belno near Schwetz/Belno k. Świecia, lawyer, estate owner, son of a officer and estate owner. During the 1848 revolution he took part in the Polish Uprising and was imprisoned in the fortress in Küstrin. In 1849 he passed his A-levels at the Royal Catholic grammar school in Ostrowo/Ostrów Wielkopolski. Subsequently he studied law in Breslau and was an estate owner in Belno. He was a member of the member of the Towarzystwo Naukowe w Toruniu/Scientific Society in Thorn, that had been set up in 1875 by Zygmunt Działowski (Sigismund von Dzialowski, 1843-1878). The society promoted Polish science and culture and research into the Polish history of Thorn. In 1881/82 it built a Museum of Polish Regional History in Thorn. He was the president of the Towarzystwo Pomocy Naukowej dla Młodzieży Prus Zachodnich/Society for Training Aid for Male Youths in Western Prussia in Culm, which provided grants to Polish students and grammar school students in the upper classes. In addition he was a member of numerous other cultural, industrial and agricultural societies, as well as serving on most of their boards. In January 1874 he was elected as a member of the Polish parliamentary group in the German Reichstag for the constituency of Marienwerder 5 (Schwetz/Świecie) with a majority of 50.34%.
