Fotoalbum Weihbischof Hengsbach im DP-Lager Augustdorf 1955

Anlässlich des Besuchs von Weihbischof Hengsbach im DP-Lager Augustdorf am 9. Mai 1955 wurde für ihn durch den polnischen Seelsorger ein Erinnerungsalbum mit 19 handgeschriebenen Fotografien angefertigt. Das Fotoalbum, das sich heute im Beisitz des Archivs des Bistums Essen befindet, ist ein bemerkenswerter Erinnerungsort der polnischen Präsenz in Deutschland in den 1950er Jahren.

Das Album (11,5 x 18 cm) enthält in einem Einband aus Kunststoff, insgesamt 20 Innenseiten mit einer Titelseite und 19 schwarz-weiß Fotografien in der Regel im Format 8,5 x 13,5 cm. Alle Fotografien enthalten handschriftlich angefertigte Unterschriften.

Deutlich zu sehen ist die Signatur des Autors des Albums: Stanisław Dunikowski. Laut Klerus-Verzeichnis der für Augustdorf zuständigen Erzdiözese Paderborn war Pfarrer Dunikowski dort von 1953 bis 1958 tätig.

Das Album gehört zum Bestand des Bistumsarchivs Essen.
