This soldier, initially declared missing, was exhumed and transferred to the Canadian military cemetery in Groningen (The Netherlands), plot 1, row C, grave No. 6.

It is possible that two other soldiers from this division were buried at the cemetery as nameless in a common grave.

According to the information carved on the stone plate placed on the grave, the two unknown soldiers died on the 16th and 17th of April 1945. During this period, the Stapelmoor and Rhede region was the scene of troublesome fights in which the Polish division took part.
