FRILLE

The year 1947 was changed to 1949.

In front of the cross there are three stone plates measuring 270 x 90 cm with names and data of 139 victims of the Second World War. They are mainly children who were born and died after the end of the war (three died during the war). Their parents (Displaced Persons, DPs) stayed in several evacuation camps in Petershagen-Weser and the neighbouring Minden.

The list of war victims buried at the cemetery in Frille comprises 117 names, including 21 adults, with one of them possibly belonging to a Yugoslavian (IVANOVIC NOVICAM). The rest are the names of children, one of which was probably Russian (KRISTINA BAWERLENG, carved in Cyrillic). Moreover, there are also Ukrainian and Lithuanian-sounding names there. This grave is also the burial place of 24 persons unknown by name.
