Chrzanowski, Bernard (Bernard von Chrzanowski), 1901-07 member of the Reichstag of the German Empire. *27.7.1861 Woynowice/Wojnowice (District of Grätz/Grodzisk Wielkopolski), †12.12.1944 Konstancin; lawyer, publicist. After attending the Maria-Magdalena grammar school in Poznan he studied philosophy and law in Krakow and Berlin. Starting in 1885 he was a lawyer in Saxony and Thuringia, from 1890 in Poznan. In March 1901 he was elected as a Member of the Polish parliamentary group in the German Reichstag for the constituency of the City of Poznan with a majority of 63.19%; in 1903 with a majority of 61.56%. Amongst others he sat on the select committee for civil procedure code. He was President of the Polish Sokół gymnastic club and active in the Polish Boy Scouts movement. In 1919 he became a Polish Under-Secretary of State: between 1922 and 1928 he was the curator of the Poznań schools authority; in 1935 Senator in the Second Polish Republic. picture: 1907.
