Komierowski, Roman (Roman von Komierowski), 1876-79 member of the 2nd Chamber of the Prussian Landtag, 1876-84, 1887-1903 member of the Reichstag of the German Empire. *15.8.1846 Komierowo near Zempelburg/Sępólno Krajeńskie, † 24.5.1924 Poznań, lawyer, lord of the manor. After passing his A-levels at the grammar school in Conitz/Chojnice he studied law in Berlin and Leipzig. In 1870 he was made a Doctor of Law in Leipzig. Subsequently he completed a preparatory training in law in Zimpel/Sępolno and Lobsens/Łobżenica before working in the Court of Appeal in Warsaw. He was the lord of the manor at Niezychowo/Nieżychowo near Weißenhöhe/Białośliwie in the district of Wirsitz/Wyrzysk and at Komierowo.In 1876 he became a member of the Towarzystwo Naukowe w Toruniu/Scientific Society in Thorn, – it was founded one year before that by Zygmunt Działowski (Sigismund von Dzialowski, 1843-1878) – whose aim was to promote Polish science and culture, and to research the Polish history of Thorn. In 1881/82 he set up the Museum of Polish Regional History in Thorn. He was the secretary of the historical and archeological department.  In November 1876, in January 1877, in July 1878 and in October 1881 he was elected as a member of the Polish parliamentary group in the German Reichstag for the constituency of Schroda-Schrimm/Środa Wielkopolska-Śrem with majorities between 78.27% and 82.23%. He was a member of the select committee for the Judicature Law. In February 1887 he was elected for the constituency of Krotoschin/Krotoszyn with a majority of 71.71%; in February 1890, in June 1893 and in June 1898 he was elected to the Reichstag for the constituency of Gniezno-Wongrowitz with majorities of 78.79%, 75.81% and 74.31% respectively. Amongst the slect committees on which he sat were those on Sugar Tax, Overall Distillery Quotas, Grain Trade, Liquor Tax and Reich Stamp Duties. In 1892 he was named a Papal Chamberlain by Pope Leo XIII. In 1924 he was awarded the Cross of the Commander of the Order Polonia Restituta.
