Skórzewski, Leon Fryderyk Walenty hrabia Drogosław (Leo Graf von Skórzewski, Leo Graf Skorzewski, Leo von Skorzewski, Leon Graf-Comte Skorzewski), 1871-74, 1877/78, 1881-87 member of the Reichstag of the German Empire. *28.6.1845 Poznan, †2.3.1903 Lubostron/Lubostroń near Labischin/Łabiszyn in the district of Znin/Żnin, dominion holder. After passing his A-levels at the Maria-Magdalena grammar school in Poznan he studied law and economics in Berlin. He was the dominion holder at Lubostron Manor near Labischin, the owner of the Labischin estate and estates at Oporowo, Zalachowo, Smerzyn, Pszczolczyn/Pszczółczyn, Karpie, Klodzin/Kłodzin, Zamosc/Zamość, Smogorzewo, Oporówko and Nowiny in the district of Żnin, a total area of 49.700 acres. He was an important collector of painting (French Impressionists), coins and antiques, and the owner of a huge library. In March 1871, in January 1877, in October 1881 and in October 1884 he was elected as a member of the Polish parliamentary group in the German Reichstag for the constituency of Wirsitz-Schubin/Wyrzysk-Szubin with majorities between 50.8% and 52.66%. In 1872 he was the co-founder of the Towarzystwo Oświaty Ludowej/Society for Public Education, which propagated the Polish language, lent out Polish books and periodicals and built up libraries. Between 1881 and 1902 he was a member of the Towarzystwo Naukowe w Toruniu/Scientific Society in Thorn, set up in 1875 by Zygmunt Działowski (Sigismund von Dzialowski, 1843-1878). The society promoted Polish science and culture and research into the Polish history of Thorn and erected a Museum for Polish Regional History in Thorn in 1881/82.
