Ślaski, Ludwik Romuald (Ludwig von Slaski), 1866-86 member of the 2nd Chamber of the Prussian Landtag, 1871-74 member of the Reichstag of the German Empire. *5.2.1818 Adlig Groß Trzebcz/Trzebcz Szlacheckie near Culm/Chełmno, †25.11.1898 Thorn, lord of the manor. He was the father of the member of the Reichstag, Ludwik Maurycy Ślaski (Ludwig Mauritius von Slaski, 1856-1906). School in Culm. Between 1838 and 1840 he studied farming at the Farming Academy in Proskau/Prószków near Opole, and in Breslau. In 1843 he took over the estate at Trzebcz from his father. In 1855 he purchased the estate at Orlowo/Orłowo near Briesen/Wąbrzeźno. In 1862 he set up die Towarzystwo Rolnicze Ziemi Chełmińskiej w Wąbrzeźnie/the Farming Society in the Culm Region in Briesen. In 1863 he took part in the Polish January Uprising by hiding weapons for the rebels on his estate in Orlowo. 1870 he set up the Towarzystwo Rolnicze w Lisewie/Farming Society in Lissewo/Lisewo. In November 1871 he was elected as a member of the Polish parliamentary group in the German Reichstag for the constituency of Tuchel-Conitz/Tuchola-Chojnice with a majority of 68.5%, in a bye-election to replace the sick member, Bernard Haza-Radlic (Bernhard von Haza-Radlic, 1837-97). picture: The Photographic Society Berlin, ca. 1865, https://polona.pl/item/5900982/0/
